Senior Python AI Engineer

- We are currently looking for a Senior Python AI Engineer to join the team of our client, a prominent organization in the enterprise and banking sector. - In this role, you will be building a Tech Modernisation Framework: an innovative, AI-driven solution designed to analyze legacy code repositories and rewrite them onto modern, platform-approved technology stacks. The role blends software engineering, platform automation and applied AI. - For this role, Optiveum is the recruitment and contracting party, which means you will sign the cooperation agreement directly with us. ## Your responsibilities - Design, build and improve agent workflows, prompts and tooling that automate legacy code migration. - Connect the AI framework to the CI/CD and deployment platform (Tekton, ArgoCD, Ansible). - Work hands-on with agentic coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Maister) and a range of LLM providers. - Collaborate closely with application teams to turn real migration cases into repeatable, reliable automation. - Keep the solution vendor-agnostic and maintainable, consistently applying clean-code and testing practices. - Senior-level programming skills in Python. - Solid software engineering fundamentals: Git, code reviews, testing, and writing clean, maintainable code. - Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes basics). - Hands-on experience with (or a strong technical interest in) LLMs and AI-assisted development (prompting, agents, tool use). - Ability to read and understand code in several languages, including legacy code (e.g. Java). - Analytical, structured approach to problem-solving; comfortable with ambiguity and experimentation. - Fluent English and a collaborative attitude. ## Optional - Experience with Tekton, ArgoCD or other GitOps/pipeline tools. - Knowledge of Ansible or other infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools. - Experience with agentic coding tools (Claude Code or similar) and agent frameworks. - Knowledge of LLM evaluation, context engineering or the Model Context Protocol (MCP). - Background in legacy modernization, code migration or large-scale refactoring projects. - Familiarity with Java/Spring, front-end stacks or other target application technologies. - Previous experience working in a regulated or enterprise environment (e.g. banking/finance). ## This is how we work on a project - Clean Code - code review - Continuous Deployment - Continuous Integration - documentation - issue tracking tools - testing environments ## Benefits - remote work opportunities - integration events - Interested?
