Data Platform Engineer – fintech sector (f/m/x)

In this role, you will build, maintain, and enhance our cloud-based data platform across AWS and GCP, enabling scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data solutions for the wider business. - You will work at the intersection of engineering, infrastructure, and data, partnering closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Analysts, and other stakeholders to deliver a platform that supports current and future data needs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys designing data platforms, evaluating technical trade-offs, and building reliable infrastructure that empowers teams across the organization. ## Your responsibilities - Build and maintain the Data Platform infrastructure across AWS and GCP, including data lakes, data warehouses, orchestration, and observability components - Enhance the platform by introducing new features and services, improving monitoring and observability, and automating common operational tasks - Develop and maintain CI/CD-driven deployment processes to improve platform reliability, scalability, and developer experience - Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Analysts to support and evolve the MLOps Platform - Manage and optimize the data estate, including IAM and access policies, storage management, platform monitoring, and cost control - Design and implement secure, compliant, and user-friendly data infrastructure solutions - Continuously improve platform performance, reliability, security, and operational efficiency across cloud environments - Work with stakeholders across and beyond the data organization to understand requirements and deliver platform capabilities that meet their needs - Contribute to and uphold strong engineering practices, including code reviews, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and established data governance standards - At least 5 years of experience in Data Engineering and/or Data Platform Engineering - Strong infrastructure and platform engineering experience, including modern DevOps practices, cloud technologies, AWS and GCP, Docker, and Terraform - Expertise with BigQuery, including security, performance optimization, and cost management - Experience working with AWS data lake architectures (Athena, S3, Glue), including query optimization, security, and cost-efficient design - Proficiency in Python and modern data technologies such as Airflow and dbt - Solid understanding of data security, platform security, and access management - Experience implementing and maintaining observability and monitoring solutions, such as Grafana and CloudWatch - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate technical options and make informed trade-offs - Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders - Comfortable working in environments with high engineering standards, including CI/CD, code reviews, pull requests, and established governance practices - Fluent English (both written and spoken) - Residing in Poland required - Fluent Polish required ## Optional - Experience designing or building MLOps platforms and supporting machine learning workflows in production environments ## What we offer - Great Place to Work since 2015 - it’s thanks to feedback from our workers that we get this special title and constantly implement new ideas - Employment stability - revenue of PLN 2.1BN, no debts, since 2006 on the market - We share the profit with Workers - over PLN 76M has already been allocated for this aim since 2022 - Attractive benefits package - private healthcare, benefits cafeteria platform, car discounts and more - Comfortable workplace – class A offices or remote work - Dozens of fascinating projects for prestigious brands from all over the world – you can change them thanks to Job Changer application - PLN 1 000 000 per year for your ideas - with this amount, we support the passions and voluntary actions of our workers - Investment in your growth – meetups, webinars, training platform and technology blog – you choose - Fantastic atmosphere created by all Sii Power People ## This is how we work on a project - Continuous Deployment - Continuous Integration ## Recruitment stages - Send your CV - Talk to us about your expectations - Learn more about our projects and choose the best - Start your adventure with Sii! - Sii is the leading technology consulting, digital transformation, engineering, and business services vendor in Poland.
